June 2, 2024‘You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.’ 1 Pet 2:5
The fundamental characteristic of living things is growth. Apostle Peter referred to believers as living stones, meaning that God is building a spiritual house containing people who grow.
God is not building with non-living stones. Anyone who would be a part of the spiritual house must be intentional about growing. In 2 Pet 3:18, Peter further encouraged the believers to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This personal and corporate growth into God’s building involves the work of every individual part. The supply of every joint holds the body firmly as it grows. Ephesians 4:16.
Jesus Christ, the head, is the source of nourishment that holds the whole body. Col 2:9. Therefore, two things are crucial: that you grow and that we grow together. For this to happen, everyone must be ready to receive the nourishment supplied by the head both directly and from the various parts of the body.
